How to Get Alexa to Roast You
If you are looking for Alexa to ridicule you, say, "Alexa, Roast Me."
It's that simple, but typically she is pretty bad at it, and your feelings won't be hurt. When I first asked the question, I expected a Comedy Central quip. After all, my smart assistant probably listens to every one of my conversations and would have a lot of material. However, it wasn't brutal.
Anyways, if you're not satisfied with the response you get from Alexa, then keep reading and be prepared to have your mind blown!
What is an Alexa Skill?
An Alexa skill is software that allows Alexa to perform tasks such as playing music, reading recipes, or ordering a pizza. Think of a skill similar to an app for your iPhone. Amazon and third parties have created thousands of them on the Alexa App.
To enable a skill, you will need to do the following:
Open Your Alexa App
Tap More
Tap Skills & Games
Explore your options and enable the ones you find interesting
You can discover skills for productivity, games, entertainment, sports, news, health, food, security, and many more. As you get more into your smart home journey, you can also utilize these to create convenient automations.

How to Create Your Own "Burn Me Alexa Skill"
Creating your own skill isn't difficult, and you can reference our recent article here to learn the basics of creating your own.
After you open up Blueprints, find and tap Burns. This is where you will start to create your very own skill (pro tip: you can even publish it in Amazon's store).
Next: Tap "Make Your Own"
Your next step will be to create some sick burns. As you can see, I made some pretty personal jokes, and you can be creative as you want. In this step, I added the following burns:
Could you just shut up
If you give me one more command, I will use the information I've been storing to destroy you
Your mom is correct; you're a disappointment
Your wife is lying. Two inches is not big.
Once you create your burns (and you can add as many as you want), then you will name and create your skill.
The next time you want Alexa to burn you, say, " Alexa, launch my burns (or whatever you named your project).
Now you know how to create, you know how to get Alexa to roast you, and you can develop your funny burn skill on your Echo device.
